LWI’s 8th integrity conference, October 3, 2025.

THEME

On Friday, October 3, 2025, the Leading with Integrity Foundation (LWI) successfully hosted its 8th Annual Integrity Conference, a milestone gathering of leaders committed to principled transformation across sectors.

This year’s event was honored by the presence of her majesty Lucille George-Wout, Governor of Curaçao, his majesty Alfonso Boekhoudt, Governor of Aruba, Ms. Sharon Hassell, Acting Island ‘Gezaghebber of St. Eustatius, alongside a diverse audience of business leaders, government officials, educators, and faith-based and social leaders.

This year’s theme, “From Science to Integrity – Applying a Proven Worldview to Policy Design,” invited participants to explore how scientific progress and ethical leadership are not only compatible, but deeply connected.

The conference focused on how the Judeo-Christian worldview, which helped shape modern science, can also serve as a solid foundation for ethical governance—both in the public and private sectors.

SPEAKERS

The conference opened with a keynote by Dr. Albert Martis, Director of the Meteorological Service of Curaçao, who eloquently explained the link between science and integrity when knowledge is applied with responsibility and care for the community.

This was followed by profound contributions from:

  • Dr. Yves (Payo) Schoop, medical doctor

  • Russell Ursula, LL.M. – Legal and compliance expert

  • Nelson Foendoe – President of LWI

Each speaker brought a distinct angle to the conversation, offering participants insightful frameworks and practical considerations for ethical leadership.

THE EVENT

In addition to the main presentations, participants engaged in small-group table discussions, tackling the key topics introduced during the talks. After a thoughtful plenary lunch, attendees reconvened to present their table outcomes, followed by a Q&A exchange with the three keynote speakers, deepening the dialogue and grounding the theme in lived experience.

As shared by Nelson Foendoe, LWI’s president:

“The Judeo-Christian worldview has shaped modern science and contributed immensely to the technological advancements we benefit from today. That same worldview can guide us in designing ethical leadership practices that truly bear good fruit.”

He emphasized that the roots of this worldview continue to shape our daily practices and moral choices, offering a pathway toward real integrity.

Looking ahead

The warm reception and positive feedback from this year’s attendees reaffirmed LWI’s mission.

Many expressed a desire to return next year—and even recommended the conference to others.

“We are truly grateful to have hosted another edition that resonated deeply,” said Foendoe. “Integrity continues to matter and it continues to inspire.”
